Physician Assistant

Are you a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant looking to make a difference in the lives of veterans? We are seeking a dedicated healthcare professional to conduct Disability & Compensation Examinations for veterans as an independent contractor in Santa Fe, NM.

About the Role:

In this role, you'll be responsible for examining veterans in an outpatient clinic setting. You'll review disability compensation claims submitted by veterans to the Veteran's Administration, focusing on in-service injury claims. Your duties will include a thorough assessment of claimed injuries, a review of medical records, and potentially providing a medical opinion based on your examination and record analysis. Charting responsibilities can be fulfilled remotely from your home.

These Medical Disability Examinations play a crucial role in enabling veterans with service-related health issues to access specialized healthcare benefits tailored to their needs. Your clinical expertise will help connect veterans with necessary treatment subspecialists and ensure they receive the ongoing care they deserve.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct disability and compensation examinations for veterans.
• Review and assess disability compensation claims.
• Analyze medical records and provide medical opinions when necessary.
• Complete required charting remotely.
• Collaborate effectively with a web-based examination form and proprietary online portal.
• Maintain active licensure and work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and adaptability to changing situations.
• Possess basic computer skills.

Qualifications:

• Active NP/PA license is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of NP/PA experience.
• Comfortable working as an independent contractor (1099).
• Monday to Friday.
• Time 9 am to 4 pm with a 1-hour lunch break.
